Neotion joins French DTT market13 December 2006
Neotion has been registered as a Distributor of Pay TV DTT by French Regulator, the CSA. As a result, early in 2007 the company will commercialise a bouquet of channels for less than Euro 10 per month, all inclusive.
With this alternative offer, Neotion plans to become a major player in French pay-DTT by addressing a market for an easily accessible, low-cost bouquet, whose potential represents 1.5 million households.
The subscribers will be equipped with the range of Neotion Pockets, MPEG-4 decoders in credit card format which can directly be inserted into 100% of the integrated DTT sets now widespread in France. The cards are plug and play with the digital TV sets, use the TV original remote control, and can be easily brought by anybody, anywhere (as they work with all integrated Digital TV sets). Neotion thus not only strongly positions itself in line with the ongoing process of the French nationwide all-digital plan, but makes accessible a compelling package of family channels for a modest sum to consumers.
The DUO version — a technology developed by Neotion with the support of the French Ministry of Industry and the National Cinema Centre — will bring in additional hybrid connectivity support for home networks. Digital TV sets can then seamlessly connect with a remote PC to access media stored onto it, as well as gain direct access to the internet.
