Jackshoot installs Custom Consoles desk

Broadcast service provider Jackshoot has taken delivery of its first Custom Consoles EditOne desk. Now in place at Jackshoot’s UK headquarters, the EditOne is being used as a live control station for switching, editing and monitoring programme content immediately prior to live internet-based transmission.

"The EditOne desk is brilliant," commented Jackshoot’s director and co-founder Simon Haywood. "It is highly robust, the ergonomics are excellent and the styling blends in well with a modern broadcast operations environment. Our EditOne desk is configured for simultaneous use by two operators. It accommodates an SDI patching matrix, monitor displays, live broadcast encoders, an Apple post-production system running Final Cut Pro with live editing facilities, hard disk drives and mains-plus-redundant power supplies. The equipment is installed in the rear-access bay below the main work surface and in the auxiliary pedestal."

Developed for use in video editing suites and broadcast graphics areas the Custom Consoles EditOne desk has hard-wearing and operator-friendly curved edges at the front, sides and rear. It incorporates three equipment pods with a collective nine units of rack space. These form the base of a monitor shelf. An auxiliary equipment pedestal with an additional eleven units of rack space and an integral worktop is also in production.

"The entire EditOne range of furniture is designed for flat-pack delivery which allows very fast despatch to site," added Custom Consoles sales manager Gary Fuller. "The desk can be assembled in less than an hour using the supplied Allen key and screwdriver. All other elements in the series will be equally easy to transport and assemble."
