ITBW announces new speakers, support

Eric Minoli, CTO/CIO at TFO, the producer and distributor of educational products in French Canada; Rune Hagberg, solutions architect at Norwegian public broadcaster NRK; and Myles Donoghue, project manager at RTÉ, the national broadcaster in Ireland, are confirmed as the latest speakers to join IT Broadcast Workflow (ITBW) 2013, a TVBEurope event. Minoli, Hagberg and Donoghue will present case studies in association with respective Gold Sponsors PCI, Tedial, and TMD, and join Gold Sponsor EVS’ session speaker Nicolas Deal, UEFA, for the 9 July conference. The title of the presentation that will be made by Minoli is ‘Creating a holistic media organisation for content creation and distribution in a multiplatform world’. Donoghue will present a case study on FAST – file acquisition and server technology. FAST is the project at RTÉ in Ireland to move to a completely file-based infrastructure. This advanced infrastructure presents workflow design capabilities to the users. Workflows are not hard-coded into the system; rather TMD Mediaflex enables users to assemble their own pre-sets and routines, and build them into workflows themselves. Also newly confirmed for ITBW is support from IBC, which joins SMPTE and the IABM as partners for the conference. To be held at 195 Piccadilly, the home of BAFTA, in central London, ITBW is dedicated to change management, greater operational efficiency, multiple platform delivery and business process management improvement in television broadcasting. Registration for ITBW 2013, the fifth ITBW conference, is open, and those who book early will save two-thirds off the conference price. The early bird rate is just £49 for the full day including refreshments and lunch. The full price is £149 (all prices are subject to UK VAT).
