Interstellar, Unbroken and Birdman among the 2015 Oscar nominees16 January 2015
Interstellar, The Grand Budapest Hotel and Guardians of the Galaxy are among the nominees for the 2015 Oscars.
Directors J.J. Abrams (left) and Alfonso Cuarón announced the nominees for the 87th Annual Academy Awards in the Academy’s Samuel Goldwyn Theater on 15 January. For the first time, nominees in all 24 categories were announced live.
The nominations include Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance), The Grand Budapest Hotel, Ida, Mr. Turner and Unbroken, which are up for the achievement in cinematography.
Vying for the achievement in film editing accolade are American Sniper, Boyhood, The Grand Budapest Hotel, The Imitation Game and Whiplash.
In the running for the achievement in sound editing award are American Sniper, Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance), The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, Interstellar and Unbroken.
Marvel’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Guardians of the Galaxy and X-Men: Days of Future Past have all been nominated for the achievement in visual effects, along with Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and Interstellar.
The Academy Awards for outstanding film achievements of 2014 will be presented on Sunday 22 February 2015 at the Dolby Theatre, Hollywood & Highland Center, and televised live on the ABC Television Network. The Oscars, produced by Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, will also be televised live in more than 225 countries and territories worldwide.
