Inter BEE continues to lead global tech trends

With exhibitor numbers – both foreign and domestic – reaching record levels last year, there’s a real fecund sense of optimism abroad for Inter BEE 2010, which starts on November 17.

Inter BEE, which has been held 46 times since its beginning in 1965, has achieved remarkable success, together with the America’s NAB and Europe’s IBC, in its role as a promoter of broadcasting technology. As the digital age continues to expand, HDTV which was developed and promoted in Japan has now become a mission-critical broadcast media responsible for setting remarkable worldwide trends.

With hopes for recovery increasing following the bottoming out of the world economic recession, “Inter BEE 2010” hopes to help further promote a new digital age by once again staging an exhibition that showcases the latest technology.

In the midst of rapidly transforming worldwide technology trends, Japan now has less than one year before TV broadcasts are completely converted to terrestrial digital broadcasting so the government, broadcasting industry, electronic equipment manufacturers, TV production companies and other bodies are collectively working towards the “changes” and “possibilities” this will bring.

Boosted by its 46th anniversary, Inter BEE will, in addition to traditional broadcasting, display a comprehensive selection of exhibits that provide an overview of a wide range of technological fields such as communications, IT, audio and lighting. HDTV-centered leading-edge broadcasts, videos, audio equipment; new workflow that utilizes IT and communications; and solutions and applications that respond to various changes will all be proudly displayed under one roof, enabling participants to experience broadcasting developments and changes.

As usual there are plenty of features above and beyond the Exhibition at the show. The Inter BEE Content Forum welcomes an as yet-unnamed leading authority both in japan and abroad in the fields of broadcasting, video and audio, who will talk about leading industry conditions and trends; the Visual Symposium: Cross-Media Development of Contents and Audio Symposium:Audio Loudness Standards will provoke discussion; Tutorial Sessions will be held for the third time; the Technical Report Conference on Commercial Broadcastin” is an annual event that has been in place since the inauguration of Inter BEE; and the IPTV, Mobile TV, Crossmedia Zone will feature once again.

“Inter BEE once again combines Japan; with its outstanding contribution to world broadcasting; and world technology,” says a statement. “It enables participants to gain awareness of domestic and overseas technology, and the latest technology; make contact with many experts and creators; and it also provides business opportunities. We look forward to welcoming many visitors.”
