Edgeware to focus on D-VDN strategy

02 September 2011
Story Code : co75

Distributed video delivery specialist Edgeware is to discuss and demonstrate its Distributed Video Delivery Networks (D-VDN) strategy, architecture and technology at IBC2011, writes David Davies.

The company will highlight ways in which its D-VDN developments can allow operators to adopt a consolidated approach to video services.

While there are many different starting points and routes forward for operators, Edgeware says that it is clear that a consolidated, IP-based infrastructure with a single video delivery network that allows the management, delivery and monetisation of differentiated high quality video services constitutes the ‘Holy Grail’.

The company will announce technologies that enable operators to move beyond a fragmented approach and to deliver services with a high QoE (quality of xperience) that accommodate scalability, investment protection and monetisation possibilities.

Edgeware will also discuss the business case for a distributed video delivery network and its implications for both CAPEX and OPEX in the broader context of the network infrastructure.

Stand: 4.B71
