IABM offers workflow training

The IABM Training Academy is launching a new course, called Broadcast technology workflows – the fundamentals. The two-day course will be first run in Reading in the UK 9 – 10 May this year. Contents of the course start from the basic elements of broadcast workflows to a discussion of metadata and media management. Other topics include standards and the processes content passes through from ingest to delivery. By the end of the two days students will have a knowledge base that will help them to discuss and analyse workflows with confidence. “This course is designed to give attendees an understanding of the full breadth of broadcast workflows,” said Steve Warner, IABM training manager. “Though students will not have all the answers when the course is complete, they will have a much stronger understanding of workflow fundamentals, and the tools they need to ask questions and extend that knowledge.” The IABM is the trade body for manufacturers and vendors in the broadcast and electronic media sector. In response to the growing skills shortage it has established the IABM Training Academy which aims to increase the availability of skilled staff within the industry. Registration for the workflow course, and information on all its training activities, can be found at
