In advance of Sky’s Ryder Cup coverage kicking off this weekend, the Hego Group has developed with the broadcaster what is possibly one of the most advanced touchscreen applications yet seen on live TV.
These two very large touchscreens, supplied from U-Touch, use the latest touch technology to achieve responsive, accurate and dependable interactions. Hego has harnessed this technology and then integrated its highly proven and adaptable GS2 Multi-Touch graphics engine to create a platform that is ideally suited for this increasingly popular studio presentation approach.
With creative input and content supplied from Sky, Hego has been able to create a stunning solution that will be used intensively by the presenters from both channels – Sky Sports and Sky Sports News throughout the duration of their live coverage from the event.
Sky Sports News began their transmission well in advance of the event on 28th September, to cover all the build up and in-depth analysis of the course and the team through their 65-inch Hego touchscreen. Sky Sports then begin their coverage on 30th September, employing expert on-screen analysis from Tiger Woods’ former coach, Butch Harmon, who alongside his European sparring partner, Ewen Murray, will be interacting with an impressive 103-inch plasma touchscreen solution from Hego to illustrate and explain their predictions for the pairings selections and results.
