Granite powered V-mount for Flex4K

Blueshape has released a V-mount battery adapter for the Phantom Flex4K that has been approved by Vision Research, along with a new high-rate discharge battery designed for the camera.

“For the Phantom Flex4K to achieve its exceptional performance it requires a constant supply of high current from the connected battery, so the performance of the battery adapter plate and battery will be need to be exceptional too,” said Toni Lucatorto, cinema product manager, Vision Research.

“During the testing that we carried out, other V-plates failed due to arcing caused by the high current discharge with resulting damage to the battery contacts. Blueshape has designed and manufactured a battery plate to accommodate these demands and the result is extremely high quality and something we can all be proud of. I am excited about this new Blueshape adapter and recommend them in combination with their high performance batteries for our new Phantom Flex4k camera.”

The MVPHF V-mount adapter comes with a lateral D-Tap connector, weighs 250g, and can be fitted to the camera with four screws.

Blueshape has also developed a new Granite 14.8v battery, the BV270HD, to cope with the demands of the Flex4K – although its existing 13.2Ah, 190Wh BV190HD and 6.2Ah, 94Wh BV100HD high-rate discharge Granite batteries are also up to the job.

The BV270HD has a capacity of 18.0Ah, 266Wh, with a maximum discharge current of 12A, is shockproof and IP54 certified, and has two Auxiliary D-Taps providing up to 5A with independent overload protection.

It weighs 1.62kg and comes with a new enhanced contact protection insert, which makes it virtually impossible for a short between the terminals, for safer air transport. Its nickel-based Li-Ion chemistry and heat resistant layer should offer improved internal safety, higher energy density, longer durability at higher loads and increased performance in low temperatures.

For users that need easy access to a lot of power on location, Blueshape has introduced new Power Station systems that allow users to integrate the power of multiple V-lock batteries into a single power source that can output simultaneous dual DC voltage output in both 28v and 14v. The PWS4 Power Station, which can have up to four batteries at once; while the PWS2 is a two-battery Power Station.

S6-Blueshape GraniteThe PWS4 can be fitted with one to four batteries (all hot swappable), with four outputs, two of which are regulated 28v (maximum 560W), the other two regulated 14v (max 280W). It also has a backlit LCD readout showing the condition of each battery, is 170x150x280mm in size and weighs 2.2kg.

The PWS2 has one regulated 28v (max 280W) output, and one regulated 14v (max 140W), and uses a three-LED gauge for each battery, is 250 x 145 x 80mm in size and weighs 75g.
