Gearhouse invests in EVS servers25 July 2011
Gearhouse Broadcast is extending its inventory of EVS servers and production equipment with a multi-million dollar investment. The picture shows Gearhouse CEO John Newton completing the agreement with Luc Doneaux of EVS at NAB in April.
The list is headed by 20 new XT3 servers, which were launched at NAB. The XT3 supports eight video channels, or six stereoscopic 3D channels, with 96 audio ports. According to EVS, it is the first such system to support all popular codecs natively without requiring hardware changes.
The contract also covers the upgrade of Gearhouse’s existing fleet of EVS systems, including the XF2 servers and IPDirector content management suites.
“Our contract with a broadcast equipment leader such as EVS places us at the forefront of live production technology rental operations,” said Gearhouse’s John Newton. “It allows us to meet demanding broadcast requirements anywhere globally. EVS always guarantees the best of live technology while opening up the way to future broadcast operations.”
