First Turkish OB unit populated by Harris

14 November 2007

Harris has received an order from Digiturk, the largest digital satellite television provider in Turkey, for a range of its high-definition broadcast equipment. The equipment, including a Platinum router, will be installed in Turkey’s first HD outside broadcast vehicle, writes Fergal Ringrose.

The sale was handled by Sony Eurasia, the systems integrator on this project, with support for the Harris products provided by Bilgi Elektronik. The new truck will be equipped with a variety of infrastructure and branding solutions from the Harris portfolio, including a Platinum 256×256 router, an Inscriber G3 HD/SD-selectable broadcast graphics system, Videotek TVM-950 test and measurement instruments and a host of 6800+ and NEO video/audio processing and distribution products.

Harris’ ONE initiative brings together highly integrated and cost-effective products that are ideal for emerging media business models and for customers upgrading media operations to digital and high-definition services.
