First IBC showing for new Audio-Technica products

The latest items include the BP4001 (cardioid) and BP4002 (omnidirectional) dynamic microphones, designed for broadcasting interview and remote newsgathering situations. Both the BP4001 and BP4002 offer frequency response tailored specifically for clear, articulate reproduction of speech. Ruggedly built to withstand a life in the field, the new microphones feature a hardened steel grille, an integral windscreen and a back-cavity assembly that ‘floats’ inside the handle shell, providing exceptional isolation from handling noise.

Other products on show include the dual-element AT2022 condenser microphone, which features two unidirectional condenser capsules in an X/Y configuration to allow for 90-degree (narrow) or 120-degree (wide) stereo operation for versatile pickup. It is designed for general stereo recording, as well as field sound capture where the microphone’s rugged housing ensures protection from damage on location.

With its ergonomically moulded earpiece and unobtrusive one-inch boom, the BP893 MicroEarset Omnidirectional Condenser Headworn Microphone (available in both black and theatre beige) offers inconspicuous placement along with clear, consistent voice pickup. Its extended frequency response and low-profile design make the microphone ideally suited to theatrical performances, houses of worship and broadcast studios.

The new AT2031 cardioid condenser end-address microphone is suitable for stringed instruments (from violin and guitar to harp and piano) in critical recording and live situations. Offering extended frequency response with a slight rise in the high frequency range for detailed sound, the AT2031’s low self-noise and high SPL handling also contribute to a usefully wide dynamic range.

The manufacturer is also showing the BPHS1-XF4 4-pin XLRF connector for use with intercom systems, and the ATCS-V60 modular voting unit for the ATCS-60 infrared conferencing system.
