London Entertainment Week is to host Streaming Forum this month.
The two-day forum will be headlined by industry experts from companies such as ITV, NFL, Sky News, Google and Amazon.
It will from part of London Entertainment Week, which runs next week from 22-25 February 2016 throughout London.
Taking place on 23 and 24 February, Streaming Forum has been developed specifically for anyone interested in streaming live events and live linear channels, from both a technology and monetisation perspective.
The forum will promote networking and access to some of the world’s live streaming pioneers and practitioners.
Comprising case studies, panels, keynotes and roundtable sessions, Streaming Forum will offer insight into subjects such as backhaul and ingest options, encoding and transcoding, cloud alternatives to on-site hardware, social video and delivery networks.
“The biggest challenge facing streaming video right now is achieving broadcast scale without breaking the internet or breaking the bank,” said Eric Schumacher-Rasmussen, Streaming Media Magazine’s editor and programme director of Streaming Forum.
“Streaming Forum offers a look at some of the technical solutions, including multicast and cloud workflows, which will help content owners meet this challenge and keep costs down.
“Co-locating the forum with BVE represents enormous benefits for our delegates, providing unlimited access to the hundreds of suppliers and producers from the broadcast, creative and live entertainment sectors present in the BVE expo halls.
”Our aim for Streaming Forum at BVE is to bring together a close-knit community of global industry gurus and practitioners to set the parameters and pace for the live streaming space over the coming months.”
There will also be a special Streaming Forum plenary session for those unable to attend the full two-day conference, which will take place on 25 February at BVE ‘s Screen Theatre.
The panel will discuss Live Streaming Today and Tomorrow, and will include Schumacher-Rasmussen; David Thorpe, Live Streaming Partnerships, YouTube and Jason Thibeault, principal technical evangelist, Limelight Networks.
