EpicTV selects Tvinci to power pan-European OTT adventure sports service12 July 2012
Tvinci’s Pay-OTT TV platform has been selected by EpicTV, an extreme sports service backed by Finnish operator Elisa and powered by the OTT native Tvinci system, offering a pan-European service across multiple connected devices. With this deployment, Elisa is hoping to target its niche content towards a potential audience of 200 million adventure sports enthusiasts across 15 countries worldwide.
The EpicTV service is delivered via Tvinci’s Pay-OTT TV platform, which will be demonstrated at this year’s IBC. Specialising in high-end solutions for the management of both paid content and the full user experience, Tvinci’s OTT platform enables operators, broadcasters and media companies to offer users linear content, catch-up TV and VOD on multiple devices.
IBC2012 will see Tvinci debut a new product to complement its Pay-OTT TV platform. Showcased in the EpicTV service, Tvinci’s new platform additions include SDKs for multiple mobile applications, device management tools to effectively manage the applications, as well as multi-DRM support in order to protect the content.
As part of the Tvinci user-centric approach to OTT, all user related personal actions are logged in the Tvinci MediaStore and exposed via API for utilisation on multiple devices. The PC personal zone offers a self-care environment in which users can also manage their own accounts – for example, a user who purchased a new iPad can associate it with their account, subject to compliance with the operator’ regulations on the number of devices per user.
