EditShare and Matrox compatible with new Avid release

EditShare’s range of shared storage products can be used with Avid Technology’s new Media Composer v7.0 release, it has been announced. In addition, Matrox Video has confirmed the immediate availability of full support for the latest releases of the Adobe Creative Cloud and Avid Media Composer v7.0 with the company’s family of I/O devices and the Matrox Mojito MAX I/O card.

“EditShare is at the centre of many Avid workflows and workgroups, so keeping in step with Avid release cycles is an important part of our product development effort and overall commitment to open integration among industry technology providers,” said Andy Liebman, founder and CEO, EditShare.

Wayne Andrews, product manager at Matrox, said, “These unified drivers support the latest releases of NLE software from Adobe, Apple and Avid. They are designed to give our customers the freedom to work easily and efficiently with whatever app is best for each task as they craft and deliver their stories.”

EditShare offers Avid Project Sharing and supports 10 Gigabit Ethernet. It also offers Project Sharing for Apple Final Cut Pro and delivers a portable shared storage solution with EditShare Field. At NAB 2013, EditShare announced a development partnership with Adobe, providing integration across the Creative Suite and Creative Cloud product lines.

Matrox I/O products provide broadcast-quality video and audio input, output and monitoring to enable traditional tape-based workflows including deck control for frame-accurate batch capture and print-to-tape. The MXO2 devices provide cross-platform Mac and Windows support.

Editshare integrates shared storage solutions (XStream and Energy), with video ingest (Geevs and Flow), media asset management (Flow), and archive and backup (Ark), to offer users a tapeless workflow. Liebman added: “Because EditShare systems are designed from the ground up for collaboration, releases such as Avid Media Composer 7 are supported across EditShare’s end-to-end tapeless workflow, providing a fluid production and post experience from ingest to archive.”
