dock10 invests in Sony and Canon equipment

dock10, the MediaCityUK-based media services provider, has invested in multiple Sony camera channels and Canon lenses for its state-of-the-art studios, with finance provided by Fineline Media Finance. The purchase, made through CVP, was one of the first made by dock10 independently of its shareholders The Peel Group and SIS since the company’s formation in late 2010, signifying the continued investment in the company. dock10 recently added seven Sony HDC-2500 camera channels and 10 assorted Canon lenses to its inventory in order to provide greater production flexibility. John O’Shaughnessy, head of Technology Operations, dock10, said, “We chose the Sony cameras firstly because they are industry standard, and also because we already have 13 Sony cameras. We have a huge turnover of studio use, often on a daily basis, so it is beneficial to be able to interchange the cameras easily between studios and productions, and that flexibility allows us to get the best use out of the kit.” dock10 chose the 10 new Canon lenses – a mixture of XJ27s, HJ22s and HJ14s – for similar reasons. “We now have a variety of lenses for different types of production, and they complement our existing stock of Canon lenses. All our ancillary equipment matches, and we can also use any lens on any camera,” added O’Shaughnessy. dock10 approached Fineline based on its reputation for excellent industry knowledge, together with its solid relationships with suppliers and manufacturers. Gareth Wilding, Sales and Marketing director, Fineline Media Finance, said, “Our expertise in the media sector enables us to discuss our clients’ requirements on a technical level as well as financial. dock10 is a company with ambition and drive to grow in order to provide the best media services to its clients, and we are pleased to be working with the dock10 team to help them achieve their goals.”
