Discovery Networks, BBC Worldwide sign content agreement

Discovery Networks Latin America/US Hispanic and BBC Worldwide have signed a deal to make the natural history broadcaster home of many of the BBC’s popular titles.

It will mean Discovery will broadcast a number of the corporation’s flagship series including Planet Earth IITop Gear and The Great British Bake Off.

“Discovery has had a longstanding partnership with the BBC Worldwide and we are very excited to be the home of these world-famous franchises,” said Carolina Lightcap, ‎EVP and chief content officer for DLA/USH. “This agreement further solidifies Discovery’s commitment in offering high-quality programming throughout our networks in Latin America.”

Anna Gordon, executive vice president and managing director, BBC Worldwide Latin America/US Hispanic, added: “I cannot imagine a better home than Discovery Networks in Latin America for our biggest franchises like Planet Earth II, Blue Planet II, Top Gear and our lifestyle hits, which will enable these shows to reach and enthrall a mass audience across the region.
