deltatre wins Digital Creativity BAFTA

At a recent ceremony, the British Academy of Film and Television Arts presented the BAFTA award for Digital Creativity to C4’s coverage of the London 2012 Paralympics Games. The award honours the collaborative achievement of deltatre, C4 and 13strides for their work on Channel 4’s multiplatform coverage of the London 2012 Paralympics. Channel 4’s commissioning editor, James Rutherford (pictured left), said of the win, “A large team of people put in a terrific amount of hard work around this project and it’s fabulous they have been recognised on such a prestigious evening.” Rutherford also noted, “It was always our ambition to raise the UK’s appreciation of Paralympic sport, but we were staggered by the response from C4’s digital audience. deltatre’s contribution to the success of Channel 4’s Paralympics coverage was integral and hugely appreciated.” deltatre’s creative director, Steve Boulton (pictured right), acted as executive editor for the Games with responsibilities spanning Editorial, Innovation and Digital Service provision. “Having influence across the full breadth of C4’s digital offering, including their technical solution, provided an agility which allowed us to achieve much more than would normally be possible. Our focus was always on telling the true story of the world’s elite Paralympic athletes,” said Boulton. “We are very proud to have been trusted with delivering Channel 4’s Paralympic vision. To be recognised by BAFTA for our Digital Creativity is a tribute to a brilliant and wonderfully committed team.” To see a short film showcasing Channel 4’s digital offering for the Paralympics, please click below: A full list of 2013 BAFTA Television Craft Award winners and nominees is available at:
