Canford to show latest RTS wireless intercom

5 July 2011

The UK-based distributor/manufacturer will be the exclusive UK outlet for the new RTS BTR-240 wireless intercom system (pictured), which is expected to commence shipping in October.

The BTR-240 system operates in the licence-free 2.4GHz frequency band and delivers full-duplex operation for up to eight beltpacks with an almost unlimited number of half-duplex beltpacks. The system offers two separate audio channels – allowing users to communicate on either or both channels – and can be configured in one of three operating modes: wireless, wired or master wireless.

Canford’s extensive range also includes the latest enhanced Tecpro Wireless beltpacks and a new version of the TW403 interface connecting Tecpro wireless to the standard Tecpro wired system. Providing full duplex operation and licence-free operation in the UHF band, the Tecpro Wireless beltpacks can supply up to 200mW with a 400m maximum range. New features include a push to talk mode, adjustable side-tone, fast channel change facility, selectable mic filter, and a PIN lockable feature that locks off pages in the advanced menu. Meanwhile, the latest version of the TW403 interface served as a bridge between Tecpro wired and wireless intercoms to bring ‘greater flexibility and mobility’ to the wired infrastructure.

Also in the comms field, Canford has recently introduced a new EMO LED racklight that interfaces with Tecpro and RTS comms systems to indicate when a call is in-bound. The E810 racklight is a flush unit with no protruding catches or latches. It employs push to open and ‘click shut’ sliding rails; when closed automatically it switches off the light, and switches it on when opened again. The device features two control buttons – one for dimming light intensity, another for increasing it – both of which become accessibly only once the light is open and in use.

Canford has also recently added to its line of breakout devices, including fibre optic breakout boxes. Featuring a rugged construction, the optical fibre boxes feature an opticalCON Quad end connection and can be custom-made by Canford with any combination of ST, LC, SC or opticalCON DUO connectors.
