BFE wins major project3 September 2009
German systems provider BFE will be replacing the existing broadcast centre (Centre de Diffusion) of T_l_vision Suisse Romande (TSR) in Geneva.
The modernisation comprises a new control room, playout automation including two fully equipped backup channels for TSR1 and TSR2, and two small studios for presentations, small productions and sign language insertion with a production control room and an ingest area.
The playout’s central components are a Nexio playout server (Harris) and the VEDA automation system (SGT), as well as an Imagestore 750 Master Control Switcher (Miranda). BFE’s KSC Commander and KSC Manager router control and signal management systems constitute the core of the communication room. TSR has also invested in further hardware: namely four Sirius and one Cygnus router (Pro-Bel), a Nexus audio router (Stagetec) and C 8000 audio processing components (J_nger), glue components (Snell) and four KaleidoX multiviewers (Miranda).
All components are HD-ready, while infrastructure (cabling, routers) is already prepared for 3G.
