Arab Broadcast turns to gold27 March 2006
The broadcast news landscape in the Arab world has been undergoing unprecedented change over the last ten years; now, for the first time, broadcast news executives and journalists from the Arab and western worlds will meet to specifically discuss the most important issues facing them at the first annual Arab Broadcast Forum (ABF), to be held June 5 & 6 at the Emirates Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi, writes Fergal Ringrose.
ABF will bring a new type of event to the Middle East. It will provide an interactive forum where broadcast news professionals, journalists and political leaders can exchange views, ideas and experiences.
Executives from some of the top Arab and global broadcasters will meet at the ABF’s Editorial Board meeting and will craft an agenda that is relevant for the region. Details will be posted on the website shortly (www.abfonline.net. Abu Dhabi TV and Al Arabiya will provide technical and editorial support.
The Arab Broadcast Forum will be held at the landmark Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi. Although arguably the world’s most luxurious hotel, the Emirates Palace, which opened late last year, will offer ABF delegates discounted room rates. Rooms will also be available at nearby hotels for those on a tighter budget.
