AJA taps into tapeless interest30 August 2012
AJA’s display of its latest technologies planned for IBC will include its T-TAP, Ki Pro Rack and Ki Pro Quad products, covering everything from straightforward VTR replacement to 444 support.
AJA’s T-TAP for broadcast monitoring is a portable bus-powered device that enables SDI and HDMI output from a Thunderbolt-enabled Mac.
With an eye toward replacing traditional VTRs, the Ki Pro Rack uses the same SSD or spinning disk storage modules as the Ki Pro with recording capacities scaling up to 500GB in a 1RU. It can be used to create Apple ProRes 422 or Avid DnxHD files.
The Ki Pro Quad is solid-state portable video recorder that supports 4k, 2k, Dual-link HD, 3G and HD, and is designed to help create workflows for those needing to support RAW workflows as well as those who wish to have options such as the ability to record to 4k Apple ProRes directly from the upcoming Canon C500 camera. The Ki Pro Quad—similar in size to the Ki Pro Mini—further offers 444 support for HD-based cameras like the Sony F3.
