T&M equipment manufacturer OmniTek is adding a range of new features to its 3D Toolset for OTM and OTR waveform analysers.

By most accounts there is just not enough 3D content for 3DTV to take off. Or perhaps there are not enough 3DTV displays out there for advertisers and broadcasters to create 3D content.

There has been another demonstration of high frame rate projection and also a display of a stereoscopic film at 4K resolution as momentum slowly builds toward a seachange in theatrical exhibition.

A video processor embedded in a new Sony 3DTV can improve the quality of 3D content. According to Sony representatives during demonstrations of the technology at CES, this could even mean improving the experience of watching poorly converted 2D-3D content.

Arri is participating in a project to design and construct a holoscopic camera, which allows realtime capture of 3D scenes. An array of microlenses, devised by researchers at Brunel University, has been apparently successfully integrated with an Arri Alexa.

German facility CinePostproduction has built a large-scale mobile screening room for viewing 3D rushes on location. It made its debut on the set of Detlev Buck's feature Measuring the World.

A 3D on demand store is launching from Sensio Technologies to boost consumer 3D adoption. With 3DGO!, consumers across the US will, from this spring, be able to access 3D titles in the Sensio Hi-Fi 3D format.
